Famous for being one of the states in Malaysia with the best and freshest produce from the sea, Urban Kitchen, the all-day dining outlet in Hilton Kota Kinabalu introduces Weekend Seafood Buffet, a Friday and Saturday-only feast for seafood lovers.



Accented by fishing nets as décor and servers dressed up as fishermen, the themed buffet is also an ode to one of the most prolific professions and industries in the country.





Complementing the richness of the ocean’s offerings are dishes such as a myriad of Italian antipasti; hearty soups such as Seafood Chowder, Seafood Bouillabaisse, Szechuan Soup with freshly homemade bread rolls & lavosh; meat cuts like Lamb Leg Roulade with mint sauce; curried delights like Bengal fish curry, Chicken Chettinad, Dhal Tadka, Chicken Masala, and more; a live seafood omelette station; sweet temptations such as sweet cherry frangipani tart, Sabah tea Panna Cotta, coconut Crème Brûlée, coffee tenom ice cream, and many more.



Located on the same level as the lobby, Urban Kitchen is open daily from 6:30am until 10:30am for breakfast, and 12:00pm to 2:30pm for à la carte lunch. Buffet dinner is available from 6:30pm till 10:30pm at RM118 nett per adult from Sunday until Thursday and RM145 nett per adult on Fridays and Saturdays.

A three-weeks delicious Thai gastronomic experience with Chef  Mama Duu

Le Meredien Kota Kinabalu hosted its first Thai Food Fiesta with Guest Chef Mama Duu, the Head of Thai Kitchen at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa in Pucket Thailand at the all day dining vemue - Latest Recioe, Lobby Level.

In Partnership with AirAsia Le Meredien Kota Kinabalu have especially invited Chef Mama Duu of JW Marriott Khao Lak, Phuket Thailand to showcase the authentic Thai flavours from the vibrant Thailand through her exquisite culinary skills and gastronomic creations.




Jasvir San-Ghera or fondly know as Mama Duu is a seasoned Thai Cuisine expert with 31 years of delicious experiences in international hotels including Shangri-la Hotel Bangkok, Intercontinental Hotel Singapore, Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok, Plaza Athenee Bangkok A Royal Meredien, Novotel Bangkok, and Bangkok Marriot as well as JW Marriot Khao Lak Resort & Spa where she currently heads the Thai Kitchen.

Chef Mama Duu is also no stranger to cooking show - she was the guest chef at the Luxury Escapes programme Australian TV chanel 10, Khun Toi Kitchen on Thai TV3 channel, Chef Nic TV Show, The Six O'clock Show an Amarin TV. She also one of the judges for Iron Chef Thailand.

HYATT REGENCY KINABALU: FORTY WONDERFUL YEARS OF HOSPITALITY EXCELENCE AND CARE



Hyatt Regency Kinabalu celebrated its 40th anniversary on 1 August 2019, commemorating four decades of milestone achievements. The property was officially opened as Kinabalu International Hotel by then Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad on 11 May 1977.

Centrally located just four miles from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), it is the first five-star international hotel in sabah to offer business travellers and tourists first-class accommodation. In July 1979,  Kinabalu International Hotel entered into an agreement with Hyatt Hotel Management Ltd (Hyatt), a company incoperated in Hong Kong, to manage the hotel which is known as Hyatt Regency Kinabalu.

Over the past 40 years, the hotel has undergone a number of upgrading works to ensure the best quality of service and facilities are provided to their guests. The works among others included the refurbishments of 288 spacious guestrooms, Tanjung Ria Kitchen and Terrace, Avantang Spa & Gym, The Residence, and many more.




The 40th anniversary event was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister and State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment of Sabah, YB Datuk Christina Liew. The auspicious event was also attended by Yang Berbahagia Datuk Haji Pengiran Mohd Hussein bin Datuk Haji Pengiran Mohd Nasuddin and Yang Berbahagia Datuk Maisuri Bin Besri, Former Managing Directors of Kinabalu International Hotel, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Haji Pangeran Saifuddin Pangeran Tahir, Managing of SEDCO Group and Yang Berbahagia Datuk Gordon Leong, Chairman of Kinabalu International Hotel Sdn. Bhd.



The main highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of extensive new mural paintings. Hyatt Regency Hotel collaborated with several talented local artist to create momentous murals showcasing the distinct culture and ethnicityy of sabah. The murals were also part of Hyatt's initiatives to promote Kota Kinabalu in the tourism industry, as the city is continually visited by tourist from all over the world.

During the unveiling, 15 of Hyatt's longest-serving employees pulled the curtsins to reveal the 165-foot-long  mural on the property walls. As the employees drew down the curtains, master of ceremonies Ben Uzair recounted highlights from their career journeys, some spanning more than 34 years with the hotel, for a combined total of 546 years of expereience among them.


To celebrate this milestone, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu is offering a series of special offers throughout the month of August 2019, This includes 40% disscount for every 40th guest dining in at Tanjung Ria kitchen for buffet lunch or dinner, and Rm 40 nett for the all time favourite signature dish, Oxtail Assam Pedas.
